NARROMINE
Police have appealed for public help to find a young man who allegedly stole a marked police 4WD after a car fire on a train line was called in.
Emergency services were called to Cragie Lea Rd, Narromine following reports of a car fire.
Orana Mid-Western Police District officers located a vehicle on fire on the train line about 3.10pm on Friday.
Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the fire and no injuries were reported.
Officers were conducting inquiries at the scene when a marked police vehicle – a Mitsubishi Pajero four-wheel drive – was stolen by a man.
The vehicle was found the Mitsubishi abandoned on Bloomfield St, Trundle about 5.05pm the next day, after carrying out investigations.
NSW Police states specialist equipment stored in the vehicle appears to be accounted for, however, a comprehensive review would be undertaken.
The alleged offender Cruz Cook, 18, has been described as in his late teens, caucasian in appearance, about 175 centimetres tall with a medium build and brown hair.
Police released Cook’s image publicly and called on the public to help find the young man, who is also accused of separate offences.
Cook is known to frequent the Nyngan, Narromine, Warren and Cobar areas.

ORANGE
In Orange, two teen boys, aged 13 and 14, face charges following an alleged police pursuit on Sunday.
Central West Police District officers were patrolling Torusola Way at Orange when they spotted a silver Mercedes sedan reported stolen about 11.30am on Sunday.
Police alleged in a statement that officers tried to stop the car after its driver allegedly failed to comply with directions, but a chase was terminated for safety reasons.
The Mercedes “was found abandoned on Torusola Way”.
The boys were arrested and taken to Orange Police Station.
The 14-year-old was charged with not stopping during a police pursuit, exceeding speed (limit) greater than 45km/h and driving a stolen vehicle.
The 13-year-old was charged with being carried in a conveyance taken without consent of the owner.
Both juveniles were refused bail to face NSW Children’s Court on Monday.
NYNGAN
Police say 200 sheep have been killed in a horrific road train fire on a busy highway in the state’s west on Saturday.
Central North Police District officers were called to the Mitchell Highway at Girlambone, near Nyngan, about 12.50am on Saturday.
Officers found the road train had gone up in flames and NSW Fire and Rescue worked to extinguish the blaze.
The truckie behind the wheel, a 32-year-old man, escaped physical injury.
However, 200 sheep were not so fortunate and perished in the blaze.
Inquiries into the circumstances of the fire were ongoing on Monday.
FORBES
Central West Police officers carried out a Firearm Prohibition Order check on two homes on Calarie Rd and Woods St, Forbes on Friday afternoon.
Officers allegedly seized methylamphetamine, two rifle bolts and two rifle magazines during the searches from about 3.20pm.
A short time later, police went to a Forbes business and searched a 45-year-old man’s car. Officers allegedly seized a crystallised substance, believed to be meth.
The man was charged with two counts of drug possession and one count of having a firearm found at premises subject to a prohibition order.
He was granted conditional bail to face Forbes Local Court on September 17.
