Elderly man taken to Dubbo Base Hospital after allegedly being hit by ute

Police are investigating after a ute allegedly struck a 90-year-old man, who was subsequently taken to a hospital in the state’s central west with minor injuries.

An elderly man has been hospitalised after allegedly being hit by a utility in the state’s central west.

NSW Ambulance paramedics raced to the intersection of Wheelers Lane and Birch Ave about 1.15pm on Wednesday, following reports of the incident.

They treated the 90-year-old man at the scene, before he was taken to Dubbo Base Hospital with minor injuries.

Police said the 39-year-old male utility driver had returned a negative result to a roadside breath test result.

Orana Mid-Western Police District officers have begun investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
