A Peak Hill man charged with grooming a person under 16 for sex and sending indecent material has been granted bail.

According to police claims contained in court documents, Dustin Diplock, 38 allegedly committed the child exploitation offences in early December, when he spoke online with an undercover police officer who was posing as a 14-year-old boy.

Strike Force Trawler detectives arrested Mr Diplock at his home on December 16 and seized various electronic devices.

Mr Diplock appeared in Dubbo Local Court on December 17 when an initial bid for bail was withdrawn because defence lawyer Bill Dickens needed more time to examine new material police provided on the day of the court appearance.

No pleas have been entered.

Magistrate Gary Wilson granted bail with conditions including that Mr Diplock not have the internet connected, access social media sites or be in the company of children under 16 with the exception of immediate family members.

While with immediate family members, Mr Diplock must also be supervised by an acceptable adult and he must not go near schools, preschools, sporting venues, playgrounds or other venues specifically used by children.

Mr Diplock is also required to report to police three times a week.

His case returns to court in February.
