A man charged with the murder of a well-known central west farmer has been hit with three additional charges in Dubbo Local Court.
Clinton Beau Wrigley, 39, of Warren, was excused from Dubbo Local Court on Thursday, where he was hit with fresh charges of stealing a motor vehicle; more than $15,000 worth of damages to a property by a fire and larceny.
He was previously charged with the murder of Miandetta farmer Joel Carter, 59, on March 28.
At the time of the incident, Mr Carter was remembered in tributes as a “true blue Aussie gentleman.
No pleas have been entered.
According to police, emergency services attended Mr Carter’s property at 7.45am on January 25 after concerns for his welfare.
Police located the body of a Mr Carter inside the property, a few days after his death.
Mr Carter died from significant head trauma, an investigation found.
Strike Force Namadgi was created to investigate Mr Carter’s death.
Police will allege that Wrigley – who was known to Mr Carter – assaulted him at the property before stealing his car and driving away.
Wrigley will next appear in court on July 20.
