A man in the state’s central west has been granted conditional bail after police claim he physically and sexually assaulted two teenage girls.
Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Griffith Child Abuse Squad launched an investigation after reports two teenage girls had allegedly been physically and sexually assaulted by a male known to them.
Following extensive investigations, detectives arrested a 19-year-old man in central west NSW on Wednesday.
The man was taken to a nearby police station, where he was charged with four counts of sexual intercourse with a child under 14, two counts of sexual intercourse with a child under 16, two counts of intentionally sexually touching a child under 16, and intentionally sexually touching a child under 14.
He was also charged with two counts of common assault and one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Each charge relates to alleged domestic violence.
The 19-year-old was refused police bail and faced Lake Cargelligo Local Court on Wednesday.
There, he was granted conditional bail to appear before Condobolin Local Court on August 6.
He must not enter Condobolin except to attend court, must report to Young Police Station three days a week, and is not to leave his place of residence between 6pm and 6am.
