Close friends of a “beautiful soul” are paying tribute following the truck driver’s sudden death on a major highway in the state’s west.

COONABARABRAN
A heartbroken wife had raised more than $20,000 to support her grieving family following the sudden loss of a man who was killed in a horrific crash earlier this week.
Karampal Singh died after his truck left the Newell Hwy, Gowang, about 30km southwest of Coonabarabran, and hit a tree on Saturday.
Emergency services attended the scene about 2.15pm. The truck caught on fire and Ms Singh died at the scene.
On Wednesday, Manjinder Singh set up a GoFundMe page to raise funds for Mr Singh’s family and funeral costs.
More than $20,000 had been raised by Thursday morning, with a goal of $50,00 to cover his family.
Mr Singh had been described as a “beautiful soul” with a “big heart who was always ready to help” anyone if needed.
“Karampal had been a very active member in society,” the post read.
Orana Mid-Western Police District officers established a crime scene and an investigation is now underway into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

DUBBO
A man has been charged with drug and property-related offences following an operating in the state’s central west.
Orana Mid-Western Police District officers established Operation Boa in January this year, targeting property-related crime in Dubbo and surrounds.
Emergency services responded to a call following reports a man was allegedly attempting to break into a home on Macleay St, Dubbo, around 9pm.
Police allege methylamphetamine, heroin, cannabis, cash, prescription medication, drug paraphernalia and a mobile phone were found.
The drugs have an estimated street value of more than $20,000.
Shane Elliott was arrested and taken to Dubbo Police Station and charged with three counts of prohibited drug supply, break and enter a house with intent and deal with proceeds of crime.
The 49-year-old was also charged with enter enclosed land, three counts of possess prohibited drugs and goods in custody suspected of being stolen.
Elliott was refused bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court on Monday, where he was given conditional bail to reappear at the same court on April 17.
Inquiries under Operation Boa continue.
BATHURST
A teenage driver has been flown to Westmead Hospital in a serious condition following a two-car crash about 25km east of Bathurst on Friday night.
Emergency services were called to the Great Western Hwy at Kirkconnell, about 5pm, and found a hatchback and an SUV had collided.
The 17-year-old driver of the hatchback was trapped in the car for more than an hour before they were released and flown to hospital.
The teenager is reported to be in a serious condition suffering multiple injuries.
A 17-year-old girl, who was a passenger in the hatchback, and a 29-year-old man driving the SUV, escaped with minor injuries.
The pair were taken to Bathurst Hospital.
Inquiries are underway by Chifley Police District.
WALGETT
A man was detected travelling more than 50km/h over the speed limit on a road in the state’s west on Friday.
Traffic and Highway Patrol Command were patrolling between Walgett and Cumborah when they observed a speeding vehicle travelling towards Cumborah, near Gingie Rd, in Walgett.
The vehicle’s speed was allegedly checked at 153km/h in the posted 100km/h zone.
Officers stopped the vehicle and issued the man a $2794 infringement notice, also carrying six demerit points.
His licence was suspended for six months.
DUBBO
Emergency services, including the Dubbo Fire Station and Fire and Rescue NSW Delroy, responded to two separate sludge spillages on Darling St, Dubbo, around 10.30am on Saturday.
Services reported the “sludge” was from the Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Both crews, along with assistance of Dubbo Regional Council, cleaned and reopened the road shortly after.
