Carcoar: Man dead on Mid-Western Highway after two-vehicle crash

A triple dose of tragedy has hit the state’s central west, with three men dying on regional roads in less than 24 hours.
Emergency services were called to the Mid-Western Highway at Carcoar about 1.25pm on Monday, following reports of a two-vehicle crash involving a utility towing a trailer and a Pantech truck towing a horse float.
The driver of the utility - a man in his 60s who is yet to be formally identified - died at the scene.
The driver of truck was not injured and two passengers, a boy and a girl, received minor injuries.
Chifley Police District officers attended and have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
In a separate incident, another man died following a two-vehicle crash near Forbes about an hour earlier.
Emergency services were called to the Newell Highway, about 15km north of Forbes, about 12.10pm on Monday, after reports of a crash involving four-wheel drive and a road train.
The 55-year-old male driver of the four-wheel drive died at the scene.
Those deaths followed that of another man, also in his 60s, who died after police found his utility overturned in Rylstone on Sunday evening.
Emergency services were called to Narrango Rd, Rylstone, about 6.30pm on Sunday, following reports of a single-vehicle crash.
NSW Ambulance officers treated the man on the scene, but he was unable to be revived.
