Brocklehurst: Ugur Can Cetinkaya charged after $22,000 cash located in van

A man has been charged after police located more than $20,000 cash during a vehicle stop in the state’s central west.

Traffic and Highway Patrol were patrolling the Newell Hwy, Brocklehurst, about 7km north of Dubbo, where they stopped a Volkswagen van about 2.30pm on February 1.

Police spoke with the 29-year-old male driver of the vehicle before searching the van.

Officers located and seized $22,000 in cash during the search.

Ugur Can Cetinkaya was taken to Dubbo Police Station and charged with recklessly deal with proceeds of crime, and goods in personal custody suspected of being stolen.

The Queensland man was formally granted bail by Dubbo Local Court.

Cetinkaya will appear on February 15.
