Bourke: Two boys, 15, 16, charged following alleged aggravated break-in

Two teenage boys have been arrested following a three-month investigation into an alleged break-in. Here’s what we know.

Two teens have been charged following an alleged aggravated break-in in the state’s far west after a three-month investigation.

Central North Police District officers claim entry was forced into a home on Anson St, Bourke, about 5am, on October 31, 2023, where multiple bottles of paint were stolen.

The occupants at home at the time were not injured.

Following inquiries, police attended a home in Bourke and arrested a 15-year-old boy, about 10.20am, on January 31, 2024.

Police executed a search warrant at another home, about 4.30pm, the same day, and arrested a 16-year-old boy.

The pair were taken to Bourke Police Station.

The younger boy was charged with aggravated break and enter in company to steal and possessing housebreak implements.

The 16-year-old was charged with aggravated break and enter in company to steal and wearing a face disguise with an intent to commit an indictable offence.

He was given conditional bail to appear at a children’s court on February 5.

The 15-year-old boy was refused bail to appear at a children’s court on February 1.

Inquiries are continuing.
