New modifications have been released for the $2.2 million build of a childcare facility, which will cater for 130 children spread across six playrooms and two outdoor play areas.
Plans for the childcare facility on 4 Ivy Court were first lodged with Dubbo Regional Council in 2022, but the modifications seek to amend the operative hours, fence design and implement a jumping cushion in the play area.
The developer is seeking to modify the operative hours from 7am to 6pm from Monday to Friday to 6.30am to 6pm from Monday to Friday.
“The proposal would not cause any adverse economic impact to the immediate area or surrounding locality,” the developer said.
“The development is expected to have a positive economic impact in providing employed for local tradespeople during construction and local childcare professionals during operation.”
The already approved childcare based centre will consist of six separate playrooms, cot rooms, administrative areas, including staffrooms and offices, kitchen, laundry, storerooms and amenities.
The facility will also have two outdoor play areas on the western and southern side of the centre.
There will be an availability of 40 children between the ages of zero and two, 30 between two and three and 60 between three and six.
The centre will employ 22 educators with 33 carparking spaces available for staff and visitors.
“The objectives of this modification are to ensure the development proceeds in an appropriate manner and provide as much economic and social benefit to Dubbo city as possible,” the developer said.
The modifications are on exhibition until May 7.
