AUSTRALIANS are naturally a generous mob, not afraid to muck in and help a mate by giving both time and money to benefit their communities.

This is not a hollow boast, with Australian Bureau of Statistics figures revealing 5.8 million people, or 31 per cent of the Australian population, participated in some form of voluntary work in 2014.

Aussies are also not afraid to put their hands in a pocket for a good cause, with studies showing that more than 80 per cent of adults donate to charities and non profit organisations each year.

Of course there are few of us who can put their hand on their hearts and swear they could not do just a little bit more to help out.

Trouble is, with an ever expanding choice of good causes how do you decide what more to do?

To help you work out what sort of good deed is going to have both a positive impact on the community but also leave you with a little inner glow we have put together an interactive quiz.

It will help you decide if looking after cute (and not so cute critters), feeding the homeless, virtual volunteering or flipping snags at the hardware store is what best suits you.

Once you have decided to DoSomething the first step is just a click away.
