IN her long career as a newsreader and television journalist, Sandra Sully has often had to deliver sombre news to viewers.
So she has jumped at the opportunity to get behind DoSomething Day, on June 15, which aims to put the emphasis on good deeds rather than bad.
“DoSomething Day is all about giving something back,” said the presenter for TEN Eyewitness News First At Five.
“It is about taking out some time from our busy days to lend a helping hand and that’s why I’m proud to support it.
“Whether it is volunteering in your local community or performing a simple act of kindness for a stranger, the idea is to do something to help each other.”
Sandra will join hopefully thousands of other Sydneysiders on June 15 to do a good deed for someone else, big or small, or volunteer for the community.
Others backing the day include the cast of the upcoming production of My Fair Lady at the Sydney Opera House, starring Anna O’Byrne as Eliza Doolittle.
Launched by NewsLocal newspapers, the DoSomething charity and Your Local Club, DoSomething Day aims to bring out the best in Sydneysiders.
Get involved on the day by uploading photos and videos of your efforts using the hashtags #DoSomethingDay and #giveyourbest.
