Dapto: Man dead after being hit by a car in Illawarra

A man has died after being hit by a car in Illawarra: Here is what we know.

A male pedestrian has been killed, following a crash in the state’s Illawarra region.

Police were called to a scene at Lakelands Drive, Dapto following reports a man had been hit by a car.

Members of the public and police officers performed CPR, before the arrival of NSW Ambulance paramedics however, the man was unable to be revived.

The driver – a 43-year old women – was also treated by paramedics for shock and taken to Wollongong Hospital for mandatory testing.

The man, who is believed to be in his 70s has yet to be formally identified.

Police have responded and established a crime scene with Crash Investigation Unit beginning an investigation.
