Police arrested a man at Cranebrook on Monday after a home invasion at St Clair.

A man was arrested at Cranebrook on Monday by police investigating a home invasion at St Clair early that morning. Police had arrested him earlier at 3am with another man but released him pending further investigations. Police said a woman, 27, was asleep in her St Clair home at 1.15am when she awoke to the sound of glass breaking. One man allegedly threatened her with a handgun while the other was armed with a baseball bat. She and her husband were allegedly held in the lounge room while the home was searched. The men allegedly stole the woman’s handbag and mobile phones before stealing the family’s Jeep and fleeing. About 3am on Monday police stopped a Mitsubishi Lancer at Dean Park and arrested two men, aged 33 and 39. The 33-year-old was charged with special aggravated enter dwelling with intent while armed with a dangerous weapon, and was refused bail. The stolen Jeep was recovered by police in the Mt Druitt area. About 4.35pm, police attended a Cranebrook house where they arrested the 39-year-old again.

A youth, 15, was arrested and charged with damaging property at a cinema in Riley St, Penrith, on Friday afternoon. The boy, of Luddenham, tried to get in to watch a movie but was refused because it had an age restriction. The boy then became upset and allegedly kicked and damaged a glass door. Police were called about 3.30pm and security guards said the boy had gone into the shopping centre. Police searched for the boy and arrested him.

A man, 48, of Richmond, was given an infringement notice after he entered a hardware at Jamisontown on Sunday and allegedly packed items in a backpack and walked out without paying. Police were called and served him with an infringement notice.

At another Jamisontown hardware store on Sunday, a man selected some tools and allegedly hid them in his pants and walked out without paying. Security officers stopped the man when he left the shop and called police, who searched his car and allegedly found more property that was stolen. The man, 52, of Edensor Park, was charged with stealing and receiving stolen property.

Police stopped and arrested a man who was driving in Candlebark Rd, Glenmore Park, after he was tested and allegedly found positive to a breath test. He was taken to Penrith police station and tested again and allegedly found to have a mid-range blood alcohol reading. He was issued with a court attendance notice.

A man who did not like to be woken up while he was sleeping in a train at Penrith Railway Station early on Sunday morning became cranky and allegedly attacked a security guard and a station staff member. Police turned up and the man, 21, of Constitutional Hill, was charged with assault and breach of bail.

A Mulgoa man driving his car on Glenmore Parkway at Glenmore Park on Sunday at 1.20am was stopped by police and breath tested and arrested for an alleged positive breath test. He was taken to Penrith police station where a further breath test allegedly resulted in a mid-range blood alcohol reading. Police suspended the man’s licence.

Two men allegedly punched and robbed a 16-year-old boy in Thurston St, Penrith, about 5pm on Friday. The men grabbed his bag and punched him, cutting his face. The first man was described as caucasian, aged about 20, slim build, 175cm tall with black hair, wearing a black cap and a T-shirt with a gold Adidas symbol. The second man was described as in his late 20s, 175cm tall, brown hair and wearing white shoes. Anyone with any information about the incident or about the two men should call Penrith police or Crime Stoppers.

A man, 63, has been charged with armed robbery of a shop at Kingswood on Thursday. It is alleged the man entered a shop on Bringelly Rd about 11.30am, armed with a knife and threatened two employees, who locked themselves in a back office. The man allegedly jumped over the counter and stole cash. On Friday, police arrested a man at a unit on Stanley Cres, Kingswood, and charged him with robbery while armed with an offensive weapon.

A credit card and MasterCard stolen from a woman’s handbag in a car parked in Macquarie Rd Springwood, were used for shopping at Kmart Penrith. The cards were stolen on Sunday, February 2. Anyone with information can contact Springwood Police on 4751 0299 or Crime Stoppers.
