Mitchell and Glenwood high school students graduate from school with caps, robes and balloons

ALL smiles before the exams, Blacktown’s Mitchell High School’s Year 12 students celebrated their September 18 graduation in style.

For the ceremony, the 2014 graduating class were the first Year 12 grade to wear blue graduation robes and caps.

Throwing their caps in the air in excitement, the students join fellow Glenwood High graduates ahead of their English exams.

English is the only compulsory subject for students sitting the HSC.

A total of 76,679 students are enrolled in at least one HSC course, with 49 per cent male students and 51 per cent female students sitting the tests.

Glenwood High principal Erla McMaster said the 200-student cohort was the school’s largest graduating class.

“These Year 12 students are a very special group of young men and women.”
