Fairfield Multicultural Eid Festival and Fair needs volunteers
FAIRFIELD ADVANCE: THE 30th annual Multicultural Eid Festival and Fair is coming up fast, but needs volunteers to make it happen.
The 30th annual Multicultural Eid Festival and Fair is set to be the biggest and best yet, but it needs more helpers to reach that lofty goal.
MEFF Consortium president Mehar Ahmad said they needed at least 50 volunteers on August 10.
“Volunteers are the building blocks of these types of events,” she said.
“It’s a great way to give back to your community and, at the same time, gain skills and knowledge.”
Volunteers are needed for photography and filming, packing showbags, setting up electrical equipment, stall support, reception, parking management and prayer facility setup.
The Multicultural Eid Festival and Fair will be held at the Fairfield Showground from 10am to 8pm.
There will be an array of stalls offering wares and food from all over the world, as well as rides and entertainment.
Children can also meet Kung Fu Panda, Batman, Dora the Explorer, mickey mouse and Minnie Mouse.
The main area is under cover so the festival will go ahead in any weather.
The night will end with a fireworks display.
“It’s going to be our best yet,” Mrs Ahmed said.
“Volunteering for the festival is an unforgettable experience.
“It also counts as good experience in event management and interpersonal experience.”
