Celebrate independent record stores at St Marys Sound Centre this Saturday

St Marys Sound is gearing up for a big weekend, with Record Store Day on Saturday.

St Marys Sound is gearing up for a big weekend, with Record Store Day on Saturday.

The Queen St store will celebrate the day with free giveaways and performances by country music artists Kaylens Rain and William Crichton from 11am.

Cherrie Perry of St Marys Sound told The Standard music lovers would be in for a treat.

“The two acts coming in to support us for nothing – they will perform and sign copies of their news albums as well as meet and great fans.” she said.

“They are very talented people, I saw Kaylens about a month ago at Rooty Hill RSL and they absolutely rocked the house down.

“The whole day provides recognition for independent record stores and the unique culture they have, we tend to go that extra mile for customers and get the acts in.”

A number of vinyl records and memorabilia will be on sale on the day.

Mrs Perry said customers would also get discounts and access to limited-edition records on the day.

“There will be 20 per cent off memorabilia, including signed AC/DC and Alice Cooper memorabilia, there is also 50 per cent off second-hand records,” she said.

“We have a lot of limited-edition vinyl coming in, so customers will get access to rare and limited items that can become collectables.

“If my customers want something they can let me know and we will try and get it in for the day.”
