A Sydney hairdresser is set to face court early next year to face allegations of sexual misconduct at his salon.
Anthony Castelnuovo, known as “Cass” by his clients, faces 12 charges following a police investigation into alleged sexual misconduct at his hairdressing salon, Vision Hair Team Asquith.
The 68-year-old hairdresser has been charged with multiple counts of sexually touching people without their consent and one charge of sexually assaulting a minor.
Police will allege Castelnuovo preyed upon multiple women, including one younger than 16, and committed a litany of alleged sexual offences.
In one instance, police will allege Castelnuovo sexually assaulted a victim younger than 16.
Police will further allege that Castelnuovo sexually touched a child, aged between 10 and 16 years, in May of this year.
Castelnuovo is yet to enter a plea to the charges, which include nine counts of sexually touching people without their consent, one count of sexually touching a child (between 10 and 16 years), one count of indecent assault, and one count of sexually assaulting a child younger than sixteen.
Castelnuovo was granted strict conditional bail on November 19.
As part of the bail conditions police have ordered him to stay away from the complainants and he “must not be alone in the company of young people under the age of 18 in (his) hairdressing salon.”
According to the Vision Hair Team website, the salon has been operating since 1974 and moved to its current location, on the Pacific Highway, Asquith, in 1995.
The case was briefly mentioned on December 15 at Hornsby Local Court.
It was adjourned with Castelnuovo due to return to the same court on February 2, 2022.
