SYDNEY Boys High School will be filled with jammers, blockers and pivots on Saturday as the basketball court transforms into a roller derby track.

The Screaming Assault Sirens will tackle the CBDeviants at the flat track on July 12.

The Sirens will be searching for a win after a crushing 234-100 defeat at the hands of The Beauty School Knockouts in the last round in front of a sell-out crowd.

Sydney Roller Derby League president Tenley Gillmore said the boisterous crowds at the roller derby matches was an indication of the sports growing popularity.

"I am always delighted to overhear people in the audience mention that this is their first experience with derby; we just love introducing new people to our derby world," she said.

"It is always fascinating to feel the difference between the huge 2000-plus crowd we attract at our games at the Hordern Pavilion, and the much more intimate and personal crowd we get at Sydney Boys High.

"The school is a much smaller venue but this is the place where our league first started, and supporters who have been with us from the beginning have a special attachment to this venue."

The next roller derby bout is at Sydney Boys High on Friday where the Sirens will take on the CBDeviants.
