THREE Roosters players will step out in Blue on Wednesday night as part of the NSW team who will try to wrest back State of Origin glory for their state.
Playmaker James Maloney was awarded the five-eighth position and will likely take on a hefty portion of the intimidating kicking duties for the Origin opener.
Roosters vice-captain Pearce has held on to his Blues jersey for this year's campaign despite an unsuccessful 2012 series and was selected in the NSW team ahead of Todd Carney.
Speedster Michael Jennings will take his pace and try scoring ability to the centre and has one of the toughest defensive assignments for the match: he will line up against Maroons and South Sydney Star Greg Inglis.
