SOUTH Sydney halfback Adam Reynolds has been rewarded for his stellar form by being selected in the City team to play Country after NSW halfback, Mitchell Pearce, was ruled out with a calf injury.
The South Sydney Junior will partner Origin hopeful Josh Reynolds in the halves for the clash, a partnership that many are touting as the solution to NSW’s Origin losing streak.
Reynolds got a taste for representative football earlier this year when he was selected in the NRL All Stars team, but will have his best chance yet to show his wares to NSW coach Laurie Daley in the City-Country clash in Coffs Harbour on Sunday.
Daley has publicly expressed that Reynolds will not feature in this years Origin series, but another strong performance from the Bunnies half will almost certainly put pressure on selectors to give him a sky blue jersey.
Teammate Nathan Merritt will also take his place on the wing in the City side on Sunday, whilst Greg Inglis will play in the centres for Australia on Friday night.
