SKATERS will outnumber surfers at Bondi on Saturday as competition gets underway at the Bowl-A-Rama professional concrete skate-boarding competition.

Bondi Beach's own Poppy Olsen will join an impressive list of skaters who will line up in the professional and masters divisions, competing for an overall prize purse of $100,000 -- the biggest in the competition's history.

Twelve-year-old Poppy heads into the event in hot form, having recently finished second in an Under-16s World Cup event in California, and winning the Australian Open Women's Bowl Championships (pictured).
