JUNIOR netballers Amy Parmenter, Bridgette Evans, Olivia Page, Kara Cummings and Megan O'Keefe have sacrificed their ponytails to raise money for the Cancer Council.

The girls raised $850, helping the Randwick Rugby Netball Club raise a total of $16,000.

"It was an amazing gesture,'' Randwick captain Danielle Bower said.

The ponytails were cut by Australian Diamonds players Kimberlee Green, Paige Hadley, Sharni Layton and Gabi Simpson.

The netballers' ponytails will be turned into wigs for women suffering from cancer.
