TWO southeast surfers placed at the Teenage Rampage OZ Invitational at Maroubra Beach.
Chifley's Max Mcguigan won the 13-and-under final and Matraville's Jackson Giles finished third in the 16-and-under final.
Monty Tait, 16, of Maroubra made it to the semi-finals of the under-16s.
Over 110 of Australia's best junior surfers battled it out in five divisions from Friday to Sunday.
Strong southerlies created tricky conditions for the finalists on the last day, but Mcguigan saved his best for last when he smashed out a nine-point ride to take the lead in his final.
This year was the first time the former grassroots juniors' series became an elite invitational event.
Since 2007, more than 2500 kids have participated in the competition.
