BASKETBALL star Sebastian Kelly always shines on the court, even when competing against players three years his senior.

The Kensington youngster has played basketball since he was nine, when he tried out for the local Sydney Comets team and was successful in winning a spot on the Under-12 squad.

In 2012, he was the team's highest point scorer and won the Under-12 boys' most valuable player trophy.

Sebastian, now 12, plays in the Under-14 division, playing most of the season as an eleven-year-old the youngest player in the team.

His mother Ana who nominated him for Junior Sports Star, said: "During games, Sebastian single-handedly beat his opponents with sheer determination and desire to win".

Sebastian, also a keen athlete, hopes to become a professional basketballer in America's NBA.
