Inglis terrorises as Bunnies slay Dragons to take victory in 30th charity shield
GREG Inglis showed again why he is one of the best rugby league players after a commanding performance for South Sydney.
GREG Inglis showed again why he is one of the best players in Rugby League after a commanding performance for South Sydney in the 30th annual Charity Shield match against St George Illawarra on Friday night  the Bunnies running out convincing 28-10 winners.
Inglis terrorised the St George defence with elusive running, and vicious fends, despite attempts by The Dragons to kick away from him.
Souths coach Michael Maguire was in awe of his star player post match.
"He's great, the way he brings the ball back," he said.
"I've said it many times, he's always crediting the boys in front of him for allowing him to bring the ball back the way he does. He's a handy man to have down the back.
"He's feeling good about his footy, and he's enjoying his training, so while he's doing that he's doing well for us."
But Inglis wasn't the only man in red and green to make an impact on the Bunnies coach, with new recruit Ben Te'o impressing Maguire with the way he has slotted into the side.
"I was very pleased with how he went about things through the pre-season," he said.
"He came in early, and that said a lot about himself with his professionalism and the way he goes about things. He's been a big addition to us."
With a number of other Bunnies making solid claims for a start in the opening round grudge match against the Roosters on March 7th, Maguire is now left with a number of selection headaches.
"I think right across the whole team I've got some big decisions to be making in the next two weeks. It's just a real competitive bunch at the moment."
