SURRY HILLS
Two officers from Surry Hills Police Area Command have been injured after a brawl involving several inner west residents, outside a nightclub on Saturday.
Officers were outside a nightclub on Oxford St, Surry Hills about 1.25am on Saturday February 9, when they were alerted to a fight.
Officers arrested a 23-year-old woman, and were allegedly assaulted by several people with her, including a 32-year-old man from Glebe, a 31-year-old man from Darlington, a 29-year-old woman from Glebe as well as a Man from South Coogee, Kingsgrove and a woman from South Coogee.
Police used OC spray and an electronic control device to arrest five people. They were then taken to Surry Hills Police Station and charged.
The 32-year-old man, from Glebe, has been charged with assault police officer in execution of duty, cause actual bodily harm, and resist or hinders police officer in the execution of duty.
He was refused bail and appeared at Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday February 9.
The 31-year-old man from Darlington, has been charged with resist or hinder police officer in the execution of duty. He was granted bail and will appear in Downing Centre Local Court on Thursday March 7.
The 29-year-old woman from Glebe was charged with resist or hinder police officer in the execution of duty, assault police and common assault. Her bail is being determined.
One officer has been treated for an injury to his right leg and a second officer is undergoing tests for suspected fractures to his hand.
BURWOOD
A man riding a stolen motorcycle has been injured after hitting a median strip in Homebush last week. Officers from Burwood Police Area Command noticed the stolen vehicle at around 4am on Friday February 8, while patrolling Parramatta Rd, near the Centenary Drive overpass.
The motorcyclist hit the concrete median strip, which caused both the rider and the motorcycle to land in the eastbound lanes. The rider sustained a suspected fractured collarbone and will undergo testing at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
Inquiries into the events leading up to the crash are continuing.
HOMEBUSH
Police have charged a man over the alleged drug supply at amusic festival in Homebush last year. The man attended Auburn Police Station on Tuesday February 5, where he was arrested and charged with supply prohibited drug — between small and indictable quantity. Police will allege the man supplied MDMA tablets at the event last year. The man, from Seven Hills, was granted conditional bail to appear at Burwood Local Court on Thursday February 21, 2019.
BURWOOD
A 51-year-old appeared at Burwood Local Court last week after he was charged with firearm related offences after the search of a home in Punchbowl. Officers from Campsie Police Area Command and South West Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad conducted a firearms prohibition order search at a home on Belair St, at around 7pm on February 6.

MARRICKVILLE MAN CONVICTED OF ANIMAL CRUELTY
Police seized two firearms, a number of knives and blades, ammunition, an electronic stun device and capsules which police believe to contain anabolic steroids.
The man was arrested at the home and taken to Campsie Police Station where he was charged with possess unauthorised firearm (x2), not keep firearm safely (x2), possess ammunition without holding permit among others.
He was refused bail and appeared at Burwood Local Court on Thursday February 7.
