Sydney CBD: Police allegedly seized meth and identity documents at a King St unit

A man and woman have been charged after police raided a property in central Sydney and allegedly seized meth and identity documents. See what they uncovered.

A 31-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman have been charged after police raided a property in central Sydney where officers allegedly located both methylamphetamine and a number of identity documents.

Last month, police commenced an investigation into the supply of prohibited drugs in Sydney’s CBD.

About 11.50am on Thursday, September 1, police and officers from the Public Order and Riot Squad executed a search warrant and raided a unit on King Street, Sydney.

While searching the unit, police allegedly located an amount of methylamphetamine and a number of identity documents, which were seized and will undergo further forensic examination.

The pair were arrested at the unit and taken to Surry Hills police station.

The 31-year-old man was charged with dealing with identity information to commit an indictable offence and unlawfully possessing an Australian driver’s licence.

The 38-year-old woman was charged with three counts of possessing a prohibited drug, supplying a prohibited drug and attempting to possess a prescribed restricted substance.

The pair were granted strict conditional bail. They are due to appear before Downing Centre Local Court on September 22.
