It’s an early slam dunk for a Sydney Uni Flames side looking to reinvent themselves as final contenders in this year’s Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL).
Former Opal star and Flames general manager Karen Dalton has revealed the club has secured a further three year deal with Brydens Lawyers as both stadium and team naming rights sponsor.
Brydens Lawyers are also the NSW State of Origin team sponsor.
“It’s super important for our program, the longevity of our program, and our goal to make it to finals this year,” Dalton said.
“What this has done is enabled us to put together a good quality team that could put us back in contention for the finals this season.”
Just two season after winning the WNBL crown, the Flames last season slumped to their worst ever finish when they claimed the competition wooden spoon.
Major changes have been in the off-season with new coach Katrina Hibbert now installed at the club and multiple new signings confirmed.
American Jessie Kuster will join the club as an import with athletic guard Maddie O’Heir another new face.
