A Waterloo man choked his ex-girlfriend following an ice bender before holding a kitchen knife to her and saying “I’ll kill you c**t”.
Court documents reveal Robert Carr, 24, visited his girlfriend at her South Coogee home about 1am on December 15, before the couple both took the drug ice and went to sleep.
The pair had known each other for about eight years but only recently started dating.
Carr had also become the subject to an Apprehended Domestic Violence Order against the 20-year-old victim.
That morning they went out to pick up some food, came home, the offender injected ice again, and the pair stayed up until about 6am the next day.
When the victim woke up that afternoon, she entered the shower before an argument erupted, and Carr pushed the victim’s head into the shower door causing a lump on her right temple.
She then walked into another room and the offender followed and stood over her.
The victim moved to sit on the floor in the bedroom and started yelling at Carr: “You don’t f****** understand … Just leave me alone … If you want to bash me, bash me. I’m sick of it.”
While she was still sitting on the floor, Carr hit her about six times, and kicked her in the head.
He then choked her, court documents state.
Carr then pulled out a large kitchen knife and came at the victim saying “I’ll kill you, you c**t. I’ll kill you”.
“The victim felt terrified,” police facts read.
A neighbour heard screaming, and said she could hear someone yelling “Help me, help”, and a male’s voice screaming “I’m going to kill you, I don’t care who hear me. I’m going to f****** kill you and your family”.
The victim ran next door and called the police, telling triple-0 Carr would stab the first police officer who entered the apartment.
When police arrived, the victim was sitting at the top of the stairs and she pointed towards a closed room.
Carr walked out and a policeman forced him to his knees, before he attempted to run down the stairs.
The police officer grabbed Carr but he got free and ran out of the apartment block.
Carr was grappled to the ground by multiple officers, where he wrestled with them.
Upon arrest, the large kitchen knife was found in his pants.
Carr pleaded guilty on Tuesday to intentionally choking a person without consent and using an offensive weapon while intending to commit an indictable offence.
The domestic violence charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm will be considered alongside a charge of resist an officer in the execution of duty, carry cutting weapon upon apprehension and contravene an apprehended domestic violence order.
He will be committed for sentence in the Sydney District Court on October 9.
