Nine children who were allegedly sexually abused by their swimming coach could spend their next Easter school holidays giving evidence against him.

Kyle James Henk Daniels was supported by his parents at Downing Centre District Court on Monday, where preliminary dates for a prerecorded hearing for the Crown’s witnesses were debated.

The baby-faced 21-year-old will stand trial next year having earlier in November pleaded not guilty to 26 charges, including nine of having sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 10.

His matter was listed for arraignment on Monday but that was pushed back until December 2 to give his defence more time to review the Crown’s indictment, which was served only that morning.

Police claim the former Knox Grammar school prefect carried out the vile acts between February and June 2018, when he was casually employed at Mosman Swim Centre.

The court heard nine witnesses – now aged between six and 11 – would give evidence over six days in a prerecorded hearing in either March or April next year.

The fixtures depend on the availability of Judge Kara Shead, who set down preliminary starting dates of April 16 and 17 to continue from April 20.

Uncertainty remains as Judge Shead would have to request a separate matter she was involved in to be moved, the court heard.

Daniels, who was arrested in March at the family’s $2.3 million mansion in Balgowlah, was facing a further 33 charges but they were withdrawn by prosecutors in September.

Nine apprehended violence orders taken out against Daniels remain in place.

His bail was continued, during which he must report daily to Manly Police Station as part of his stringent $100,000 bail conditions.

He must also not seek paid or voluntary work that would bring him into contact with anyone under 16, must not work as a swimming instructor or lifeguard or contact his alleged victims.
