A man charged over an allegedly targeted double stabbing in Sydney’s inner city on Saturday, which left two men with serious injuries, will apply for bail next month.
Beshoi Butros, 21, is accused of breaking into a home on Shepherd St, Chippendale just before 8.40am on Saturday morning and allegedly attacking two men, aged 20 and 25.
Officers from Redfern police area command established a crime scene soon after and Butros, from Blacktown, was arrested following a raid on his home about 10am on Sunday.
He was taken to Blacktown police station and charged with two counts of aggravated break and enter to commit an indictable offence.
Butros’ matter was mentioned at Central Local Court on Wednesday, where it was adjourned for a bail application to be heard on August 8.
According to court documents, it is alleged the Ironbark Cres resident was in the company of two other males when he went to the home of Junhui Fan, 20, between 8.20 and 8.40am on July 6.
Police will allege in court Butros broke into Fan’s terrace house home and stabbed him and Huifu Lu, 25.
The incident was targeted and relates to a personal issue between the parties, according to police.
Court documents allege Butros “knew there were persons within” the Chippendale home before he allegedly forced his way inside.
Both Fan and Lu were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
Fan was in a serious but stable condition, while Lu was in a critical condition.
Butros did not apply for bail on Wednesday and it was formally refused.
Inquiries into the incident are ongoing.
