Man granted bail after alleged Moore Park coward punch attack

A Matraville man has been charged over an alleged attack in Moore Park that was captured on CCTV footage. The man was granted conditional bail after the jawbreaking incident.

A man has faced court charged over an alleged coward punch that left its victim with a broken jaw in Moore Park last month.

Jay Diamond Farmilow was arrested at Surry Hills police station on Wednesday following a public appeal that was launched last week for information and CCTV footage was shared of the incident on Saturday, June 15.

Farmilow, 31, of Matraville was charged with reckless grievous bodily harm in company after allegedly punching Sebastian Loutkovsky, 23, in the face about 10.15pm at Moore Park’s Entertainment Precinct.

Police allege Loutkovsky was walking with friends when they were approached by a group of men, including Farmilow, and a short verbal exchange occurred.

It is alleged Farmilow then punched Loutkovsky in the head from behind, causing him to fall to the ground where he was allegedly kicked.

Farmilow and the group then allegedly fled the scene.

Loutkovsky suffered a fractured jaw requiring surgery and a metal plate and several crews to be implanted into his head. His treatment is ongoing.During a public appeal on June 28 Detective Superintendent Gavin Wood told media the alleged attack was a coward punch “in anyone’s language” that had caused “significant injuries”.

Following inquiries, police contacted Farmilow on Tuesday and he attended Surry Hills police station the following day.

He was charged and refused bail to appear at Central Local Court on Wednesday, where he was granted conditional bail.

Farmilow will next face Downing Centre Local Court on August 19.
