Man, 39 charged over alleged possession of child abuse material and illicit drugs
Police have charged a 39-year-old man over the possession of alleged child abuse material and illicit drugs.

Police have charged a 39-year-old man over the possession of alleged child abuse material and illicit drugs
Officers from the PTC North Central Transport Action Group stopped a black BMW on Mountrain St, Ultimo on February 19, for an alleged traffic offence.
After speaking with the male driver and searching the vehicle, police located methylamphetamine and GHB (an illegal drug that acts as a nervous system depressant).
Police conducted further searches, where they located a mobile phone with alleged child abuse material.

The man was arrested and taken to Day Street Police Station.
A search warrant was later executed at a home in Darlinghurst where officers seized computers, electronic storage devices and suspected illicit drugs.
They will undergo forensic examination.
Police will allege further child abuse material was located on electronic storage devices.
The man was charged with two counts of possess child abuse material and two counts of possess prohibited drug.
He was refused bail to appear before Central Local Court today (Wednesday February 20).
Investigations continue.
