Iakopo Esera: OneFour rapper caught driving with cocaine in system

A member of controversial western Sydney rap group OneFour was stopped by cops while cruising around in his Ford Focus. Tests revealed the 21-year-old had been driving having taken cocaine.

OneFour rapper Iakopo Esera was caught cruising around in his Ford Focus having taken cocaine.

Mount Druitt musician, Esera, 21, was sentenced on Tuesday at Downing Centre Local Court for drug driving.

He is part of the Western Sydney rap group OneFour which has had numerous members and associates before the court in recent months.

Esera previously pleaded guilty to the offence which dates back to October 27 and received a Conditional Release Order, on a good behaviour bond, for 12 months.

Esera and a male passenger were driving down South Dowling St in Surry Hills about 9.30pm when police saw the driver commit a traffic offence, facts state.

An initial breath test returned a negative result but Esera was given an oral fluid test, which returned a positive result for cocaine.

Esera was arrested and taken to Surry Hills Police Station and a second test was carried out.

The second sample also returned a positive result for cocaine.

When asked, Esera told the cops he had consumed the drugs at home two days before.

The rest of the sample underwent further forensic analysis.

Esera was told not to drive for 24 hours and forensic analysis came back with a positive result for cocaine.
