Several well-known Sydney restaurants have landed on the name and shame list for food code violations in the height of the silly season.
Sydney Italian institution Bill and Toni’s in Darlinghurst was fined a total of $1760 for failing to maintain the required standard of cleanliness and handwashing facilities following previous warnings.
The beloved restaurant has been in operation since 1965.
Billi’s Cafe in McMahons Point was also fined $1760 for failing to maintain the required standard of cleanliness in the premises, fittings, fixtures and equipment after previous warnings.
Penang Hawker in Campsie was also fined $5280 for failing to maintain the required standard of cleanliness in the premises, fittings, fixtures and equipment, failing to protect food from contamination, failing to have a temperature device for potentially hazardous food, failing to store food under temperature control, and failing to maintain handwashing facilities.

Blazin Grills, Wiley Park: fined $440 for failing to maintain the required standard of cleanliness
Sindoor Indian, Bankstown: fined $1760 for failing to protect food from contamination and failing to prevent the harbourage of pests after previous warnings were given

Cafe49, Five Dock: fined $440 for failing to maintain the required standard of cleanliness to the fixtures, fittings and equipment
Let’s Meat Here, Rhodes: fined $880 for failing to take the required steps to prevent food contamination

Beijing Dumpling, Surry Hills: fined $880 for failing to maintain the required standard of cleanliness
Blue Fish, Sydney: fined $3300 for failing to display their food safety supervisor certificate, failing to maintain the required standard of cleanliness and failing to protect food from contamination
Ichinzen, Haymarket: fined $880 for failing to keep the premises in good working order
Jade Hong Kong and Malaysian Delights, Haymarket: fined $1760 for failing to maintain handwashing facilities and the required standard of cleanliness
NORTH SYDNEY
The Colonial, Neutral Bay: fined $880 for failing to maintain the required standard of cleanliness
Top Juice, Crows Nest: fined $660 for failing to display their food safety supervisor certificate
NORTHERN BEACHES
Rozzi’s, Brookvale: fined $880 for failing to supply single-use hand towels at handwashing stations
Simply Noodles, Brookvale: fined $2640 for failing to prevent food contamination and failing to keep food surfaces clean
RYDE
Nova Mantra, North Ryde: fined $1760 for failing to maintain the required standards of cleanliness and prevent the harbourage of pests
WAVERLEY
Bronte Fish and Chips, Bronte: fined $880 for failing to store potentially hazardous food under temperature control
Iggy’s Down Under, Waverley: fined $880 for failing to maintain handwashing facilities
Pure Bronte Cafe, Bronte: fined $2640 for failing to store potentially hazardous food under temperature control, failing to maintain the required standards of cleanliness and failing to protect food from contamination
WOLLONGONG
HK Catering, Corrimal: fined $880 for failing to maintain hand washing facilities
