Daniel Taylor charged with child grooming offences
A man who thought he was talking to a 13-year-old boy online allegedly engaged in sexually explicit conversations about acts he wished to perform with the child, a court has heard.

A 33-year-old man believed he was speaking with a teenage boy and engaged in sexually explicit conversations about acts he wished to perform with the child online, police allege.
Rosebery man Daniel Michael Taylor was one of four charged in June following separate investigations into alleged online grooming across NSW.
In May, police will allege Child Abuse and Sex Crime Squad’s Child Exploitation Internet Unit detectives began engaging online with Mr Taylor, who police allege believed he was speaking with a 13-year-old boy and engaged in sexually explicit conversations about acts he wished to perform with the child.
After extensive inquiries, Strike Force Trawler detectives arrested Mr Taylor at Westmead on Friday, June 18, at 10.20am and his Rosebery home was raided and electronic devices were seized.
Mr Taylor was taken to Granville police station and charged with two counts of use carriage service-procure under 16 years for sexual activity and failing to comply with reporting obligations.
He appeared at Parramatta Bail Court on June 19 and the matter was adjourned to Parramatta Local Court on July 1.
The matter will return to court on September 3.
Three other men were arrested as part of the child abuse investigation.
Police allege detectives began engaging online with a man from Sans Souci in May. Police will allege in court that the man believed he was speaking with a 13-year-old girl and engaged in sexually explicit conversations about acts he wished to perform with the child.
Police raided his property on June 10 and seized electronic devices.
Following further inquiries, detectives arrested a 43-year-old man at Kogarah police station on June 15.
He was charged with use carriage service-procure under 16 years for sexual activity. The man appeared at Sutherland Local Court on June 18, when he was granted strict conditional bail to reappear at the same court on August 13.
In another investigation, the child abuse detectives allegedly began engaging online with a man from Orange in May.
Police will allege in court that the man believed he was speaking with a 14-year-old girl and engaged in sexually explicit conversations about acts he wished to perform with the child.
Following extensive inquiries, strike force detectives arrested a 57-year-old man at a home at Orange about 11.40am on June 16. Detectives searched his home and seized a mobile phone.
The man was taken to Orange police station and charged with one count of use carriage service to groom person under 16 years for sex.
He was granted strict conditional bail to Orange Local Court on July 26.
In the other incident, detectives allegedly began engaging online with a 55-year-old Paddington man in June and arrested him at his home on the morning of June 17.
Detectives searched his property, where they seized electronic devices before charging him with two counts of using a carriage service to transmit child abuse material.
He appeared at Central Local Court the same day, where he was granted strict conditional bail to reappear at the Downing Centre Local Court on August 10.
