Blake Coxell: Camperdown cocaine dial-A-dealer had drugs in undies

A young professional thought he could make some money on the side as a dial-a-dealer in Sydney’s inner suburbs. That was until police caught him with four bags of cocaine stuffed in his underpants.

A human resources employee who moonlighted as one of Sydney’s infamous Dial-A-Dealers had four bags of cocaine stashed in his underpants when he was pulled over by police.

Blake Coxell, 24, was sentenced at Downing Centre Local Court after being caught with drugs and hundreds of dollars in cash when police pounced on his car at Woolloomooloo last year.

Agreed facts revealed Kings Cross officers were alerted by Coxell’s “suspicious” interaction with two males who entered his grey Honda hatchback about 3.55pm on December 20, 2019.

Officers watched as they left the car 20 seconds later before Coxell drove from Lincoln Cr to William St where he was stopped by police.

The two males were collared and admitted to buying two bags of cocaine for $600, showing officers the text messages sent to organise the deal.

Coxell, a former real estate agent, initially told police he had driven to Lincoln Cr to “pick up” money he was owed by the two males for selling them a “pair of shoes” for $600.

When he was led to the back of a caged police vehicle and told he was about to be strip searched, he admitted to having drugs in his undies.

“Yeah four bags,” the agreed facts state he said.

There was $720 in his wallet, with police suspecting the majority of which came from the drug deal.

Two months later the Camperdown resident escaped jail time after pleading guilty to two charges of drug supply and one dealing with the proceeds of crime.

During her ruling Deputy Chief Magistrate Jane Mottley described Coxell as a “foot soldier in a very large army” of drug dealers, saying she saw similar cases come before her “daily”.

His role was not unlike that of a pizza driver, Magistrate Mottley said, whose phone number had been circulated throughout the community.

“They bring pizzas, you bring cocaine,” she said.

Magistrate Mottley convicted Coxell of all charges and ordered he follow an 18 month community corrections order.

She also imposed a fine of $550 for each drug offence and an $1100 fine for dealing with the proceeds of crime, totalling $2200.
