Marlee Rose Kelley, 24, of Tuggerawong, faced Wyong Local Court on Tuesday when the Crown prosecutor tendered a charge certificate.
Charge sheets tendered to court allege Ms Kelley assaulted a woman twice at a house between 6pm and 6.28pm on October 1 last year.
Police allege the pair then got into a silver Holden Commodore with Ms Kelley losing control on Cooranga Rd and ploughing into a tree.
Ms Kelley and her passenger were trapped in the wreckage for a short time.
Her passenger was flown to Westmead Hospital suffering critical head injuries.
Ms Kelley suffered less serious head injuries and was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital.
The collision was investigated by the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit, which later charged Ms Kelley with aggravated dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm because she was allegedly travelling more than 45km/h over the limit.
The court heard Ms Kelley would have to sit in with the prosecution at a case conference before she is required to enter any pleas.
She was also charged with driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor, driving in a manner dangerous and negligent driving.
She will return to court on July 16.
