Woy Woy house fire: Police probe suspicious circumstances of Angler Street blaze

A 45-year-old man has escaped a house well-alight in Woy Woy after emergency services were called to his home overnight. Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the blaze.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a suspicious house fire at a Woy Woy home overnight.

Emergency services were called to the Angler St home about 10.40pm on Thursday after reports a home was well alight.

Crews from Fire and Rescue NSW attended and extinguished the blaze.

A 45-year-old man in an adjoining home on the same property escaped uninjured.

Officers from Brisbane Water Police Area Command have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the cause of the blaze.

Police are currently treating it as suspicious.

Anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area between 10pm and 11.30pm is urged to contact Woy Woy Police or Crime Stoppers.
