With a sprawling garden, innovative meeting places, sweeping views over Wyong Golf Course and 300 parking spaces ING’s new $11 million call centre and office is set for completion in early 2022.

The bank’s Australian CEO and other dignitaries attended an official “sod turning” ceremony at the site within the new Wyong Business Park this week.

ING Australia CEO Uday Sareen said the bank had outgrown its existing call centre at Tuggerah and its 400 staff would move into the purpose built building.

According to its development application the 4,800sq m site will cater to up to 600 jobs, meaning new staff and those who currently work at ING’s Sydney office will be able to live and work on the coast.

“We have been on the Central Coast for almost two decades and we are one of the region’s biggest employers,” Mr Sareen said.

“A quarter of our entire Australian workforce is based there.

“For any organisation to succeed it needs to provide an environment where the health and wellness of employees are prioritised. People are most productive when they have a good work life balance and this is exactly what our new Central Coast home is about.”

Mr Sareen said innovative meeting spaces and new technology would make it easier for teams to work collaboratively, even if their colleagues were working in another office or at home.

“The location was chosen as it has great transport links, is close to shopping amenities gyms and childcare facilities,” he said.

“There will also be an onsite cafe and enough space for us to provide employees with free parking.”

The site has parking for 300 vehicles and will feature a sprawling garden to give employees the opportunity to work outside or have the space to recharge.

“Clearly there will be opportunity to grow more jobs on the coast, which is why it’s exciting,” Mr Sareen said.

Mother-of-two Holly Bengowski, of Gorokan, has been with ING for 16 years and is looking forward to ditching the daily commute to Sydney.

“As a working parent the new building means to me a better work, life balance,” she said.

“I lose that commute and I can still be passionate about my career and be passionate about my family at the same time.”
