Wamberal: CareFlight responds after man trapped between excavator and crane

A man was flown to hospital after being trapped between an excavator and a crane on a worksite in Wamberal.

A man was trapped between an excavator and crane at a worksite in Wamberal on Tuesday morning.

The tradesperson, aged in his 30s, was caught between the machinery while working at the site, suffering chest and suspected spinal injuries.

The Mounties Care CareFlight Helicopter was called to the site on the corner of Prince St and Lake View Dr shortly after 11.15am and landed at Terrigal Haven.

NSW Ambulance provided initial treatment for the man at the scene and transported him to CareFlight’s medical team.

CareFlight’s specialist doctor and the NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic carried out an assessment which included an ultrasound.

The man was flown to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition.
