A MAN suffered suspected chest injuries when his car ploughed into the back of a rubbish truck on Karalta Rd this morning.
Emergency services were called at 7am following reports of a two-vehicle collision.
When they arrived they found a man trapped inside his sedan.
He was freed and taken to Gosford Hospital suffering chest pains. No one else was injured and the road was cleared by 7.39am.
DUMPED CAR SET ALIGHT
NSW Fire & Rescue were called to an abandoned car set on fire at Terrigal at the weekend.
Terrigal Fire Brigade got the call at 5.46am on Sunday following reports of a car on fire in Kurrawyba Ave.
The fire was quickly extinguished and the car was unattended at the time.
MAN WANTED FOR OUTSTANDING WARRANT
Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a Central Coast man wanted for an outstanding warrant.
Morgan Geoffrey Denning, aged 30, is wanted over alleged property and serious assault matters.
He is described as being caucasian appearance with a solid build and about 180cm-185cm tall.
He is believed to frequent the Central Coast but may also travel to Northern NSW and Queensland.
Anyone who sees Morgan Denning is advised not to approach him but to contact triple-0 (000).
IMAGE RELEASED FOLLOWING STABBING
Police investigating the assault and stabbing of a 45-year-old man at Wyong last month have released a computer generated image of a man they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.
The victim was assaulted by a group of up to five men in Boyce Ave about 2.15pm on April 19.
Police have released a digital image of one of the alleged men involved in the incident. He is described as caucasian, 175cm-180cm tall, medium build, fair complexion, blue eyes and aged between 30-40 years old.
WOMAN DIES AFTER CRASH AT WOY WOY
An elderly woman died in Royal North Shore Hospital after accidentally being run over at Woy Woy last week.
About 3.30pm on Wednesday the woman, 85, was in the car park of a car dealership on Charlton St, Woy Woy, when she got out of her car in order for a 72-year-old man to assist her in reversing.
As the man got into the car, it suddenly reversed, knocking the woman to the ground and driving over the top of her.
It then came to a stop wedged between two parked cars. Ambulance paramedics attended and the woman was treated on scene before being flown to Royal North Shore Hospital where she died.
Brisbane Water Police District officer are investigating the incident and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
AUSGRID STARTS HELICOPTER BUSHFIRE PATROLS
Residents might have noticed a chopper buzzing low around Central Coast skies after Ausgrid announced the start of its annual bushfire helicopter safety patrols.
This year the energy giant is using two helicopters to conduct the patrols twice as quickly with choppers flying low and slow over powerlines checking for potential bushfire hazards.
