One of the Central Coast’s highest profile real estate agents has faced court for the first time where he has pleaded not guilty to one count of stalking or intimidation.
Abdullah Abbas Choudhari, 34, of Tumbi Umbi, appeared in person at Wyong Local Court on Thursday where a solicitor, acting as an agent on behalf of his lawyer, entered the plea on his behalf.
The matter was adjourned for hearing on August 15 next year.
Charge sheets tendered to court allege Mr Choudhari stalked or intimidated his wife causing her to fear physical or mental harm some time between 8am on October 2 and 11pm on November 9.
An interim apprehended violence order, which police are obliged to take out when someone is charged with a domestic violence-related offence, has gone over to the same date.
According to court documents Mr Choudhari owns multiple real estate companies and investment properties, and earns between $250,000 and $300,000 a year.
“The accused is alleged to have threatened the victim and this was recorded on her phone,” police allege in documents tendered to court.
“He has also alleged to have been physically violent but this was not disclosed properly by the victim. The victim made disclosures and provided a recording of the intimidation.”
As part of his bail conditions Mr Choudhari is not allowed to live at the couple’s sprawling Tumbi Umbi acreage.
According to his profile on realestate.com.au Mr Choudhari has sold 95 properties in the past 12 months with a median sale price of $980,000.
He was also ranked in the top five agents across the Central Coast for five years running from 2016-2020.
