Plans for two townhouse developments in East Gosford have been lodged with Central Coast Council.
The applications, at 9 Webb St and 9 Brougham St, are open for public comment as development continues to increase in the sought after suburb.
The Webb St application, valued at $1.4 million, proposes five two storey, three bedroom townhouses with basement carparking close to the East Gosford waterfront.
On the ground floor, each unit has a living, dining and kitchen area, along with a paved courtyard and rear grassed area. On the first floor, the units have three bedrooms and a bathroom/ensuite.
The proposal has a building height of between 6.5m along the southeastern side and 7.96m at the front.
The DA, lodged by Ashley Powell and David Krenich, states the development will provide a variety of housing types and densities and is compatible with the future character of the zone.
The current house on the site will be demolished and plans for the site are on public exhibition until February 3.
Meanwhile the Brougham St development application is for four two storey townhouses, valued at $950,000.
Car access is proposed via a single driveway to separate garages for each unit.
In a report to council, the applicant stated the development “caters for the increasing demand
of smaller and low maintenance housing stock within East Gosford”.
“The proposal provides increased housing density which is well designed to meet residential needs and is commensurate with the established and design character of the surrounding area.”
The DA is open for public comment until January 24.
The East Gosford and Point Frederick areas have been sought after for developers over recent years, with major developments under construction including John Singleton’s Ravello and Tony Denny’s Peninsula.
The sod was officially turned on Mr Singleton’s highly anticipated Ravello development in December, which will include 40 apartments comprising of one, two and three bedrooms, and three penthouses.
Mr Singleton spoke exclusively to the Express at the sod turning and said the building design would be “quite special”.
“When you see the view, it’s just paradise, it is fantastic … the only unfortunate thing about the water is that it’s called Brisbane,” he joked.
The completion date for the project is early to mid 2021.
