GERMAN beer and crispy pork knuckle lovers rejoice — The Bavarian is coming to Tuggerah.
Rockpool Dining Group is opening The Bavarian at Westfield Tuggerah in April.
The family friendly restaurant will be on the ground floor of the shopping centre, opposite The Coffee Club, and will seat 278 guests, including 154 seats outdoors.
The opening, which is the 27th in The Bavarian chain, has created 30 full-time and casual positions on the Central Coast.
Rockpool Dining Group chief executive officer Thomas Pash said Tuggerah “ticks all the boxes” when it came to location.
“Our customer data shows that Central Coast families visit The Bavarian restaurants in and around Sydney, so we think they will appreciate having their own ‘local’ venue,” he said.
“We’ve had our eye on the Central Coast for some time. There is an exciting and growing dining scene in the region, which we are hungry to be part of.
“Our favoured locations for The Bavarians are vibrant dining precincts in busy shopping centres.”
The menu is enough to get anyone’s mouth-watering, with crispy pork knuckle, crackling pork belly, a range of classic German and gourmet sausages and shared platters.
The Tuggerah restaurant is launching with a new range of loaded schnitzels, each with a variety of toppings and sauces. There is also 1kg six-stack schnitzel tower, dubbed the Schnitzelmeister, for those that love a food challenge.
And you can wash it all down with a stein of one of the 18-20 beers on tap including Löwenbräu, Franziskaner, Stiegl and Hofbräu.
“We’re renowned for these pure Bavarian biers, which are brewed in accordance to ancient Purity Laws known as the Reinheitsgebot, which stipulate that only four natural ingredients can be used in the brewing process: hops, malt, water and yeast,” he said.
“These pure beers are one of our unique points of difference.”
He said The Bavarian would employ 40-50 people with roles still needing to be filled.
“We still need to fill most roles, including assistant restaurant managers, chefs and kitchen hands and casual front of house staff,” he said.
“During the design and construction phase we have also engaged around 50 professionals and tradespeople on the project.”
