A man pointed an imitation pistol to the cheek of a pregnant woman and demanded she and her male passenger get out of her mother’s mini-van, a court has heard.

Jesse Kamper, 24, of Wamberal, faced Gosford Local Court on Friday where he pleaded guilty to a single charge of aggravated assault with intent to take a motor vehicle while armed with a weapon.

Upon the plea being entered the Crown prosecutor withdrew a second charge of robbery armed with a dangerous weapon and it was formally dismissed.

Kamper’s bail was continued and he was adjourned for sentence on September 2.

An agreed set of facts states Kamper was being driven around Terrigal in a Mazda CX3 on July 6 last year when the car stopped in Beaufort Rd about 7.45pm.

The court has previously heard the car was registered to and being driven by Maddison Morgan, 26, of Woy Woy, who was Kamper’s then girlfriend.

The facts state the victim was in her mother’s black Kia Carnival when she pulled over and parked on Beaufort Rd before turning the vehicle off and placing the keys in her lap.

At 8.04pm Morgan did a U-turn and parked behind the Kia before Kamper got out and Morgan drove away at speed.

Kamper was wearing a black face mask when he approached the Kia.

“Kamper opened the driver’s door of the Kia and using his right hand pointed a plastic black imitation pistol to the right cheek of [the victim],” the facts state.

“Kamper said ‘get out leave everything’. As he said this, he tapped the butt of the pistol on [the victim’s] right cheek.”

Kamper told the woman, who was pregnant at the time, and her male passenger to “get out leave your phones”

The victims said words to the effect of “yeah, yeah, take whatever”.

The woman got out of the Kia holding her phone and Kamper told her to “throw your phone in the car” before he ordered them to turn out their pockets.

Kamper got in the Kia and drove away.

The victim and her passenger walked to Terrigal Police Station to report the carjacking.

Kamper meanwhile drove to Anchorage Crescent where he was met by Morgan and the pair drove away in her Mazda.

Police found the Kia abandoned a short time later and the victim’s phone smashed on the ground nearby.

“Police observed the Kia appeared to have been ransacked with items strewn around and a number of wipes in the car,” the facts state.

Police seized the vehicle and found Kamper’s fingerprints on the back cover of an owner’s manual found on the passenger seat.

He was arrested on October 12 at West Gosford and taken to Gosford Police Station but declined to be interviewed.

Morgan was later charged with refusing to tell police who was in her car at the time.

She pleaded guilty to the offence earlier this month and will be sentenced on July 10.
