A Dora Creek woman allegedly stole a woman’s phone before attacking her with a gas cylinder in Toukley.
Tara Lillia’s matter was briefly mentioned for the first time at Wyong Local Court on Wednesday with Lillia not required to appear from jail.
The 24-year-old did not apply for bail with the matter adjourned until August.
Police allegedly received a report that around 8.20 on June 8, two women were speaking with a male and female in a car on Hargraves Street, Toukley.
The driver Lillia allegedly leant over and grabbed one woman’s mobile phone from her hand before driving away and heading towards Gorokan.
Police state that a short time later, the woman agreed to meet the occupants of the car on Main Road.
When the car returned, the 29-year-old male passenger allegedly demanded money to return the phone before Lillia allegedly got out of the car and assaulted one of the women with a portable metal gas bottle.
A passer-by stopped to assist the woman before the male passenger got out of the car and had a verbal argument with him.
Lillia and the man returned to the car and drove from the scene.
The incident was reported at Toukley Police Station with Tuggerah Lakes Police District starting an investigation.
Lillia and the man were arrested about 8.40pm on June 9 on Douglas Street, Dora Creek.
Lillia has been charged with steal from the person (less than $2,000), armed with intent commit indictable offence, two counts of stalk/intimidate intend fear and common assault.
She is also facing a charge of possess or use prohibited weapon on April 28 2021 in Killarney Vale.
The 29-year-old man was charged with demand property with menaces with intent to steal, knowingly deal with proceeds of crime, and stalk/intimidate intend fear.
He was refused bail and will appear before Wyong Local Court on August 4, while Lillia will appear again on August 3 where she is expected to enter a plea.
