Tamworth: Jed Silvester, Lachlan and Braydan Purcell, face court over alleged bush footy brawl
Three Central Coast rugby league players have faced court for the first time charged over an alleged brawl at Tamworth, which reportedly broke out after a pre-season footy game.

Three Woy Woy Roosters rugby league players have faced court charged with affray over an alleged brawl following a pre-season footy game at Tamworth.
Jed Silvester, 24, of Ettalong Beach, and brothers Lachlan and Braydan Purcell, aged 22 and 20, both of Woy Woy, faced Gosford Local Court on Thursday.
The three men were not required to enter any pleas to one count each of affray while Lachlan was also charged with wilful exposure.
The three were adjourned to May 9.
Their court appearances came after emergency services were called to Peel St, Tamworth, about 2.30am on Sunday, March 10, following reports of a brawl.
Upon arrival, police observed approximately 20 people fighting in the roadway, before OC spray was used and the group dispersed.
There were no injuries reported.
Oxley Police District officers commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident and following extensive inquiries, arrested the three Roosters players on March 14 at Woy Woy Police Station.
Charge sheets tendered in court allege the three were involved in the melee outside Tamworth’s Court Hotel while Lachlan allegedly exposed himself earlier in the evening between 11pm and 11.30pm.
The Woy Woy Roosters had travelled to Tamworth for pre-season games against the North Tamworth Bears on the Saturday, March 9.
Meanwhile Tamworth police have charged a further two people in relation to the alleged brawl.
Following further inquiries, about 9.25am on Thursday, March 28, police attended a home on McKinlay Place, Tamworth, and issued a future court attendance notice to a man and woman.
The woman, 19 and man, 18, were charged with affray and will attend Tamworth Local Court on Monday, May 13.
Inquiries are continuing.
