Action is heating up in the Central Coast Water Polo competition heading into the business end of the season.
In the under-14s women’s division, Ebony Nash scored four goals as the unbeaten Gosford side beat Wyong 10-2 at Gosford Pool on Saturday.
Gosford also won in the under-14 men’s clash against The Entrance/Wyong at the same venue, getting the better of the hard-fought match 11-8, with Harry Naven chiming in with four goals.
The 12 mixed competition sees Woy Woy Black unbeaten this season, with the Wombats also unbeaten in the women’s under-16s, while Gosford is the team to beat in the men’s under-16s.
Local juniors have been buoyed by some recent success away from the Central Coast, with several sides contesting the NSW Junior Country Club Championships in Wagga Wagga.
The Wyong under-16 girls came home with gold and both Gosford under-16 boys and a composite Gosford and Woy Woy under-16 girls team earned bronze.
Seniors have also impressed on the wider stage, with the Gosford senior women earning bronze at the NSW Open Country Club Championships at Mittagong on the Australia Day long weekend.
In the local senior competition Gosford is the team to beat in the top women’s division, while Woy Woy is leading the way in the top men’s grade.
